Brussels, 27 October 2021 – The General Assembly of MCEC has formally approved the candidates for chairmanship for the next two years. The support from the group to re-elect José Mosquera, International Flavors & Fragrances (IFF) as its Chairman and Markus Rösch, BASF as its Vice-Chairman was unanimous.

José Mosquera, Global Strategy and Growth Leader Microbial Control, at IFF: “Over the past two years I have seen MCEC become more strategic in its approach, building relations with relevant stakeholders, growing communication channels, and staying abreast of EU policy developments. In the next two years under my supervision I would like to see MCEC continue building on this trend. Microbial Control Technologies are essential, and we will continue delivering that message.”

Markus Rösch, Head of Product Management Watersoluble Polymers and Biocides for Home Care, I&I and Industrial Formulators Europe at BASF: “The use of microbial control technologies helps save energy and resources, prevent waste, and reduce disease outbreaks. In the next two years we will continue our work to maintain proven microbial control solutions for the industry, accelerate innovations and illustrate the importance of biocidal products.”

MCEC looks forward to continuing work under their guidance in seizing opportunities and addressing challenges to come for microbial control technologies within the EU regulatory context.
